The objective is to understand what young people do in Montreal, their urban habits, by pointing to a particular time of night. What are their activities? Who are they with? Where do they go? How do they experience the "politics of the night" implemented (or not) by the City of Montreal? What do they need? This line of research raises a number of issues: safety in the city, needs, constrained experiences, mobility and risks, risk-taking and socialization, fragilities and vulnerabilities; issues that are necessarily linked to gender, ethnicty and class. This reflection is conducted within the framework of the Tryspaces project, in collaboration with the Université de Montréal and the Conseil Jeunesse de Montréal so that the data collection takes into account the diversity of Montreal's territories, the linguistic and socio-economic plurality of young Montrealers.
